Dare to Differ: experimental lettering and imagery around the eerie and unfamiliar.
The university brief explored themes including the uncanny, dreamlike and unusual. I developed the phrase Dare to Differ through experimental letterforms and image treatments.
FontStruct supported the typography work. I explored treatments with Adobe Firefly and used Midjourney for generated imagery, then made edits in Photoshop and developed moving versions in After Effects.
I built the Dare to Differ lettering in FontStruct and explored variations with Adobe Firefly. These treatments show the slogan moving between block forms, texture and colour.
The project let me test how a phrase could hold its character across different treatments. The work combines original typography, generated imagery, editing and animation; each played a different part in the process.
